What a delightful response to the prompt! I liked how you formatted this - one day at a time and growth along the way!

Thanks! I haven't been in class for a few years now but it's been 9 times so i know the drill and it's the same every time! Haha. Joey loves to sleep so life is good. But the puppy does not so far!

Gosh, so many early mornings! I liked the way you structured this with the different songs each day, and comparing how the instructor was each morning.

This is so cool! So does the process typically work with a 2.5 week long stay while you and your dog get to get acquainted? Are the days very full? That seems like a lot!

If a person is going into class at The Seeing Eye for the first time the time at the school is 26 days. After that a returning handler does go for 2.5 weeks unless more time is needed then the person can stay or an instructor will go out to their home to work more. Days are very full. There are 2 trips a day to work with the dog. As time goes on the routes we travel are more and more difficult, traffic, obstacles, crowded sidewalks etc. We also take busses, trains, work in buildings such as grocery stores and malls. We end, if we want, going into New York City to work subways and work on the crowded streets. It's a lot but we do get some down time to socialize or nap! Other schools can be different but that's what I go through when I get a new dog. Hopefully Joey, my current dog, will work well for another 2 or 3 years before I need to go into class. we shall see. The Pandemic has not helped as he's not gotten a lot of work.

Thank you for expounding! That sounds like a pretty thorough and intense program.
