La famille Arc-en-ciel

 Generation 1 Yellow

I found the Rainbow Challenge on Live Journal and I thought it was a brilliant idea. I started reading and I had the chance to fall on a couple of really good stories with good writing. In a way it kept me from posting my own, because I don’t have that kind of talent. But I kept thinking about it. So now that I have a brand new computer,  a clean game and all EPs installed, (Yay! at last!)  I decided to give it a try. It is quite fun to play.

I called my family: Arc-en-ciel which means Rainbow in French (arc in the sky literally).

This story starts in an apartment building in Belladona Cove

Meet Citronelle (citron is French for lemon)

She is a Gemini: 4 - 6 - 7 - 3 - 5

Her LTW is to be a World Class Ballet Dancer and her hobby is Music and Dance

Citronelle came to this neighbourhood knowing no one. She took a small apartment on the first floor. As you will see, she loves yellow!

This is her apartment in an airview.

I had taken pictures of all the rooms, but since she is not going to stay there for very long, it was not useful.

So let’s move on to...  Canari

He is a Scorpion: 7 - 6 - 6 - 0 - 6

His LTW is to be Education Minister and his hobby is Sciences (difficult hobby, aside from looking in a telescope what can they do?)

Canari decided to rent a big apartment because he really wanted to meet someone, THE right girl and settle down to have a family. He figured if he already had a big apartment with 2 bedrooms he would sound like a real catch! But the rent was expensive, so he looked in the paper and found a roommate. She was a very quiet little old lady who worked as a scientist.

Here is Canari’s apartment. It is in the same building as Citronelle (of course!) and it is a 2 levels apartment so it’s on the 2nd and 3rd floor.

First level - Looks like Canari shares Citronelle’s love for yellow! There is a lot of yellow except for the bedspread in the roommate’s bedroom.

Second level

sorry about the French text... that was meant for someone else, and I didn’t save the pictures without text...

Canari met Citronelle at the week-end party the landlord set on Saturday. They ended up in the hot tub and they really, really liked each other!

Canari asked Citronelle to move in with him and eventually there was a wedding. I took pictures, but I didn’t have Sim Camera at the time and I can’t find the pictures in the game folder.

It was very difficult getting them together because even after a woo-hoo session in the hot tub, when I wanted Canari to phone Citronelle the next day, she didn’t appear in his phone book, but she had him in her phone book. Go figure??? I wanted her to move with him because he had the bigger apartment and I couldn’t do it. After that woo-hoo night, when they were together, all the interactions had to come from her, because he had no interactions available with her. So, eventually I moved her out of her apartment, to the bin and then I moved her into his household and it worked out perfectly. But it looks like I have a bug in my game...

Soon there was a baby on the way and Canari knew he would have to tell his roommate she had to leave, but he was struggling with it. He didn’t know how to broach the subject. He was still fidgeting about it, when he had a message: his roommate had died while at work and left him 400§.

All that was left to do, was to decorate the room which really wasn't fit for a baby. And Abricot (Apricot) was born.

He has his mother’s green eyes

Meanwhile the ghost of the roommate keeps haunting the exterior of the building asking for her bed! I didn’t know ghosts had to sleep!

Canari and Citronelle decided to give Abricot a little sister.

Looks like it worked...

It’s Abricot’s first birthday!

Abricot is a big boy now!

Citronelle decided to use her maternity leave to teach Abricot how to talk. (I could not find any yellow maternity wear).

And how to go potty... no one wants two babies in diapers if they're not twins!

Canari took charge of teaching him to walk

Welcome... oh! It’s another boy! And that apartment is too small to have another baby. So it will be 2 boys! This one is called Alezan (which is the French word for the chestnut color on a horse). I had a lot of names picked out for girls with the orange theme, but none for a second boy. I’m stretching it here with alezan which is more of a red-brown, but I hope it will pass...

Oh oh! Slight problem here...

The open room upstairs was redecorated as a nursery, so the baby would not wake up Abricot at night. I never thought I would use that ugly Maxis print...

Toddler spam. They are so cute when the go affectionately tap-tap on the side of the potty.

And it’s Alezan’birthday already!

Alezan has his daddy’s eyes

Abricot grew up, but I was busy with something else, so he did that on his own without a birthday cake! Canari and Citronelle had to buy new furniture to decorate Abricot’s bedroom. The boy insisted on orange!

Here is Abricot all grown up

Coming back from school Abricot had a wish of playing skipping rope, and he discovered he loved fitness as a hobby.

Abricot did his first homework with his mother’s help. Actually that was pretty difficult to do, because it looks like Abricot has the same problem with his mom as Canari had in the beginning. All the interactions I try on Citronelle with Abricot selected, just disappear. I had to select Citronelle and direct her to help Abricot with his homework.

He thanked her when he was finished and had understood it all. Same thing here. The interactions are available, but when I choose one, it just disapears. I'm getting worried about this.

Meanwhile, Canari was teaching Alezan to walk

It’s my first time playing with AL, so I loved it when Canari invited over a nice witch for a game of chess!

We now have 2 generations: Yellow and Orange. I hope it is obvious...

I again forgot the birthday and Alezan grew up alone in the upstairs room!

Now the apartment’s first level looks like this

And the second floor looks like this

Well, that’s all for now...
