I kept telling Rob - we need Pedro, but did George listen NO... the Mets look like a young hungry team and the Yanks, well they look like a really old, boring and going through the motions team. Can you believe how sucky A-Rod is so far? but I have to admit it's kind of fun listening to Mike Francesa take the abuse from Mad Dog about the Yank's woes.
I'm surprised at how well the Met's bullpen has been. If they can be consistent there, they'll be a really good team.
Hate to say it, but I drop Piazza from my team in Fantasy baseball. He looks tired and despite the fact that he had 3 rbi's the other night, I think he looks overmatched; like he lost his bat speed. And of course he's not a good catcher, he looks more like a pitcher to me any way (I guess we could ask Sam Champion)
George was focused on the Big Unit, just ask Sam Champion. I think the Yanks have lost that nice mix that they had in early 90s. Too many Chiefs, not enough Indians. . . I must say that it pains me to watch Bernie struggle and bat ninth. I like the guy. I like these Mets so far, and I am really, really hopeful. This is the first time in many, many years that a game is throughly worth watching from start to finish. I know they can come back, and they look like a bunch of happy guys who like playing with each other (again, just ask Sam Champion). I sense genuine comraderie if that is possible on such a well-paid professional level. Piazza is cooked. . . .
