Thank you, thank you, thank you so much Lord! I know I sound like a little kid who just got the bestest Christmas gift ever, but I seriously don't care right now :)) Despite the fact that I had such a huge migraine the whole afternoon, it was definitely worth it.
I had my recollection today, regarding the sacrament of confirmation which we're going to have next week. We were required to have our parent/s, and our godparent. My godparent wasn't available, but we had a proxy who signed and then left shortly after. So, I spent nearly five hours in boredom with my parents. Me and my cousin actually laughed about this yesterday, because she was asking me which set of parents were coming :)) Obviously, it's the original pair. But yes, you could say I have two sets of parents. And no, I'm not an orphaned child =))
Meh, I might explain about my very odd family some other day, but I'm going to blog about today, and how awesome it was. I was with my mom and my dad, sort of hanging out with them. Which is the closest thing I've ever gotten to family time nowadays. I was so.. grateful for it that I almost cried. I managed to hold it in though xD It would've been weird for me to have started tearing up.
Anyways, yes, at first, I was with my dad and we were waiting for my mom. He was asking me about my grades, and it's very obvious how I felt about that (referring to my past post on it.) Anyway, he was telling me that I was really similar to him, which made me smile since it made me feel closer to him, in a way. Because, well.. it makes me feel as if he were a part of me, and that even if he didn't live with me or wasn't even legally considered to be my dad, he still is. I know it's really cliche and corny and all of that, but I can't help it > < I've always had a dysfunctional family life, and moments where I get a chance to be a real family with them is rare, considering my mom and dad aren't together anymore. But anyways, my dad told me that I was a very bright child, ever since I was little. He asked me if I knew that, then he said I was like him in that sense, how we were both bright but we never really studied seriously.
My mom came, and then we were all seated in one corner of the hall where the guy was speaking. He was a very very horrible speaker. As in, my dad was playing on his iPhone and I was playing on mine while my mom was trying to secretly eat some of the food that she got at McDonald's. It was decidedly fun, I mean, I was talking and having fun with my mom, which I haven't been able to do for the longest time without getting into a fight with her. And then, I noticed at some part in the talk, that I was probably one of the few people there who were actually having fun with their parents. Others were with their friends, while some were bored while they were with their parents.
It made me realize that I was one of the very few who probably was lucky enough to be grateful for today, because I got to spend it with my parents. We even walked back to my mom's car hand in hand, my dad's on my right and my mom's on my left. And I was so, so, so happy about today because it was one of the rarest moments where I could feel like I was actually part of a normal, happy family. It made me really really thankful, even if I had to deal with one of the worst migraines I've ever had in my entire life.
