Weekend update.

Another fantastic weekend spent with my girlfriend.

I decided to be a little smarter this time around and packed my weekend stuff in advance and brought it to work with me on Friday morning so I could head down to Angela's right after work in order to get a head start on some quality time. We had already planned our evening meal so we headed to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients. I ended up making us a lovely beef stir-fry which was really yummy. We tried to watch a movie afterwards but we were both pretty tired from the work week and we decided to call it an early night and we headed off to bed.

We were awake pretty early on Saturday morning but we enjoyed just lazing in bed and "talking and stuff". When we finally decided to get up, I made us some chocolate chip pancakes with a side of sausage for breakfast. We once again tried to watch a movie but Angela wanted to take a nap so I let her go and after the movie I went to get her and we took a "nap". We spent the early part of the afternoon talking and laughing and enjoying each other's company then we started to get a little stir crazy. Angela had some movie passes so we decided to go see The Omen. We got to the theatre around 4 pm and decided to get tickets for the 7:50 pm show so we could go eat first. We went to a Chinese restaurant called East on Queen St. The food was delicious, and very reasonably priced. For appetizers, we had pork and shrimp dumpling dim sum and spring rolls. For the main course, Angela had the sweet and sour chicken and I had a seafood Szechwan dish with shrimp, scallops and calamari. After dinner we went to a candy store to get some treats to smuggle into the theatre. Wine gums, pop rocks, jellybeans and chocolate covered banana chips. We did some more walking, went through Chapters and then had a hot chocolate and then headed to the movie. We both enjoyed the movie quite a bit. After the movie, I received a voicemail from Greg asking if we were still interested in getting together. I called him back and we made arrangements to meet the following day. We went home, had a few more snacks, tried to watch another movie and then went to bed.

After another early rise on Sunday, I made us ham/cheese/mushroom omelettes with sausages and homefries for breakfast. After breakfast we tried to watch another movie but ended up taking another "nap" instead. Around noon, we got into the shower so we could start getting ready for our meeting with Greg and Angel. We got to Humber Bay Park at around 2:30 pm and after the obligatory introductions and hugs, Greg and Angel presented me with an early birthday present (thanks again guys, I really love it). It was a really cool tea candle holder/lamp-type thingy and I got a cap gun with ammo and a card and a mini Toblerone bar. We spent the rest of the afternoon taking in the sights around the park. We fed ducks and swans and seagulls and really aggressive geese and we walked through the butterfly sanctuary and we had soft-serve ice cream cones (not necessarily in that order). through the course of the afternoon, Angel was kind enough to take the first "couple-photos" of Angela and I, which we really appreciated. After we took in all the park had to offer, we headed back to Greg and Angel's place where we grabbed some soft drinks and went to their complex's back garden area where we sat and talked and looked out over the water. After that we went inside for coffee and some more conversation and laughs and then Angela and I headed back to her place.

We enjoyed the rest of the beef stir-fry for our supper and watched Napoleon Dynamite and around 11 pm I headed home tired and sun-drenched.

All in all I had a wonderful weekend with my baby and some great friends.

And for the curious, here is the happy couple in question.
