Brian's birthday bash weekend.

For anyone who didn't know (or didn't care), yesterday was my birthday. Angela and I decided to take the opportunity to use the whole weekend to celebrate. I got to her place a little after 5 on Friday afternoon and she was so excited about giving me my birthday present, she couldn't wait until Monday. She is so adorable. First of all, she gave me a very nice card with a very personal handwritten message inside that made me smile. Then there was the "Meet the Feebles" dvd that I had been wanting for ages. Finally, there was a black t-shirt with three-quarter length sleeves that she had custom printed with "I'm A Guard" (our little inside joke) on the front. I was very happy.

Earlier in the week, we had agreed on tacos for supper because I got a wierd craving for them. We proceeded to the grocery store to get the fixin's and came home and had a taco fest. As Angela had never ever seen an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I brought season 1 over for us to start on which we did. The rest of the evening was spent watching some Buffy and then we went to bed.

Saturday morning saw us awake before 8 am and we enjoyed some quality snuggle time before we got up and I made us french toast for breakfast. We relaxed around the apartment for the better part of the morning and then we showered and decided to go for a walk to Kensington Market. It was a beautiful day but boy, was it hot. On the way back from Kensington, we decided to stop by the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario). It was air-conditioned and due to renovations, free admission. After the AGO, we continued our walk south to Richmond St. and went to Sugar Mountain for a few snacks. After another quick stop at Starbucks, where we picked up a couple of banana cream frappaccinos, we headed home. At around 6:30 pm, we walked to The Old Spaghetti Factory where Angela treated me to a birthday dinner. Afterwards, we walked home, relaxed for a while to let supper settle, then we went to bed.

Since we had been such party animals on Friday and Saturday, we needed to sleep in on Sunday. We didn't get up until 9:30 am. Sunday's breakfast consisted of my first attempt at making blueberry pancakes. Fucking awesome. About mid-afternoon, we took a walk to Harborfront to get some air. We stopped off at Tim Horton's to grab a couple of Iced Capps and sat and people-watched for a while. We enjoy doing that. Once we were tired of that, we headed back to the apartment. For supper, we headed up to the rooftop terrace of Angela's building to use one of the tenant barbeques for the pork souvlaki that we picked up on Friday. We also has some potato and macaroni salads and it ended up being a very nice meal. After that, we called our dads to wish them a Happy Father's Day and then we settled in to watch Meet the Feebles. That was one fucked-up puppet movie. I loved it.A little later in the evening, we made nachos using some of the leftover taco fixin's and watched a Dane Cook comedy special that I had downloaded and then we went to bed.

This was my first time staying over on a work night but everything still felt perfectly natural. As we both start work at the same time, we both get up around the same time in the morning. We awoke around 5:30 am Monday morning, took our showers and shared the mirror as we got ready. I packed up my weekend stuff and Angela packed a small bag for herself as we planned for her to spend the night at my place since she was coming up to join Tim, Heather and I for supper. So for my birthday, Tim and Heather presented me with a frying pan (one of the T-Fal ones with the red preheat circle), a really cool looking can opener and a $25 gift certificate for HBC. For supper, I decided on Galaxie Diner. And for dessert, we finally had the Kitchen Sink. For those unfamiliar, it's a sundae consisting of about (at least) 15 scoops of ice cream (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla) with caramel and chocolate sauce and whipped cream and cherries, literally servied in a sink. It was huge but the four of us managed to get through most of it. After supper, we came home and Angela and I relaxed for a bit and then watched a movie before going to sleep.

Up again at 5:30 this morning, took our showers and got ready for work. We left the house around 6:45 and after catching the bus, got to Finch Station at around 6:50. We stopped off at the Tim Horton's to get a couple of large double doubles and then got on the subway. It may sound corny, but it was so nice being able to travel even partway to work with Angela. It was nice being able to hold her hand and talk to her and then give her a quick, chaste kiss before getting off at my stop. I want to do that every morning. I want to wake up next to her every day and feel the warmth of her body and the softness of her skin and be able to kiss her good-morning. Damn, I'm such a sap.

Even though we both still have a firm grasp on reality, we know that there is always a chance that things might turn out different than we expect, we still can't help but talk about things that we plan to do in the future, not things we hope we can do if we're still together. I am totally and hopelessly in love with Angela. I can't remember ever feeling this way about anyone else.

I am so fuckling happy.
