Party Time (Part 3)

Castiel was wallowing. Self-pity had always sort of been his thing. Having his sexual advances rejected by Dean a week ago had opened old wounds and made his insecurities seem more prominent. Dean was a red-blooded male right? And Castiel was a warm, willing body; so what’s the problem?

Damn rejection hurt. It made Castiel ache all over and his emotions a total mess; mostly they ranged from violent bursts of anger to long bouts of crying. He couldn’t help it though. He was good at needing people, but not at getting other people to need him.

Dean had called. Multiple times actually, but Castiel never answered. He was afraid to hear pity in Dean’s tone or that Castiel would say something to make everything worse. Gabriel called as well. He left long voicemails; usually it was random yelling about things that Castiel didn’t really understand.

At the moment Castiel was watching Jerry Springer; and the sweats he was wearing were starting to smell. He was munching on three day old stale pizza when the door banged open. Gabriel was standing over him looking severely pissed, with his hands on his hips and being far more intimidating than his small frame had any right to.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” Gabriel snarled. Castiel opens his mouth to answer that he doesn’t know, but apparently it was only rhetorical.   “Do you know I haven’t had sex in five days?”

“I fail to see how that involves me.” Castiel’s voice sounded small even to his own ears.

“Because my not having sex is your fault.” Again Castiel opens his mouth to argue, but Gabriel continues, “Dean is unhappy because you’ve been avoiding him, or some such nonsense. And Dean being unhappy makes Sam go into his I-must-fix-this-mode; which means he comes to me because you just happen to be my brother and he thinks that I have some sort of control over you. This in turn makes Sam withhold sex until I do what he says. And now we’re back to how my lack of sex is your fault.” Castiel had been aware that his brother was unusual, but blaming him for his lack of sex takes the cake.

“I’m not avoiding anyone.”

“Cas, you smell. You’re eating nasty, old pizza and watching Jerry Springer. This is the most pathetic I’ve seen you since…”

“Don’t you dare bring him up!” Castiel is angry now. His muscles were tense, his blood was boiling. This was not acceptable. Gabriel knew that how Castiel felt when he was brought up. Gabriel promised that they would never mention that man again. “You have no right to speak to me about him. We agreed about that.”

“I know. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have used that against you.” Gabriel looked sufficiently chastised and Castiel silently forgave him.

“Why are you here Gabriel?” Castiel was confused. He knew Gabriel still technically lived here, but he usually only visited to grab something or do laundry. And yes Castiel had been avoiding his calls, but this sit down care-and-share was not really Gabriel’s style.

“I’m here to invite you to dinner.”

“Why on earth would you invite me to dinner?”

“Because you need to see Dean so I can get sex.” Gabriel’s grin was perfectly lewd and Castiel knew that he had no choice but to show up for dinner tonight.

The door was right there. All he had to do was knock, be let inside, eat and leave. It was simple really, but still he was nervous. Castiel put his finger on the doorbell and heard Gabriel yell at Dean to answer the door. He also heard Dean’s profanity littered response, and that just make him more nervous.

Dean was standing in the doorway. He looked confused and ecstatic at the same time, which admittedly was a strange combination, but made Castiel’s heartbeat speed up anyway.

“Cas? What are you doing here?” Dean said and moved away to allow Castiel entry.

“I, uh, Gabriel invited me to dinner.” He said to his shoes in order to avoid seeing Dean’s face at the moment, but Dean moved in his personal space. He smelled good and Castiel could feel the body heat radiating off of him.

Dean hugged him tightly and Castiel responded immediately. “I missed you,” Dean whispered in Castiel’s neck. His breath was hot and Castiel wanted nothing more than to stay this close to Dean forever; but Gabriel had other ideas.

“Hey, lovebirds. You gonna join us for dinner, or stand out there and cuddle all night?” Castiel felt more than heard Dean’s answering chuckle. Dean released himself from Castiel’s grasp, grabbed his hand and tugged him into the kitchen to eat.

*****

Dinner was fabulous. Dean clearly excels at his job; Castiel had never tasted anything so good. Dessert was chocolate cheesecake, and it was positively orgasmic. At least that was Castiel’s opinion. He would love to keep Dean around even if it was just to cook.

The four of them were watching Terminator, or rather Dean and Castiel were pretending to watch, but mostly they were sitting awkwardly on the couch; and Sam and Gabriel gave up five minutes after the movie started in favor of feeling each other up. Gabriel clearly had no shame. Honestly, there were other people in the room! Couldn’t they keep in their pants or go into another room. It was after a particularly loud moan from Sam and a responding one from Gabriel, Dean couldn’t take it anymore.

“You guys are nasty. Get a room!” He waited a beat, as if expecting a response, “Another room jerks.” The laughter from their siblings followed Dean and Castiel up the stairs where it continued until the door slammed out the sound.

The silence in Dean’s room was deafening. Castiel honestly never thought he’d be spending any amount of time in this room again. This is where it all started; where Castiel made his drunken profession of love; where he first slept with Dean; where they both decided to date each other. Now he was back; even after their misunderstandings. He was here in this moment and there really couldn’t be any misinterpreting Dean’s signals in bringing Castiel into his room.

Something soft hit him in the chest, interrupting his inner monolog, and drops to the floor in a heap. It appears to be a pair of pants. Dean’s pants apparently, being as they are in Dean’s room. Castiel meets Dean’s gaze with a questioning one of his own. “You want a shirt as well?”

“For what?”

“Sleep of course,” Dean says this as though it should be the most obvious thing in the world. “You are planning on staying right? I mean, you don’t work weekends and I have the day off. And I figured we probably wouldn’t want to walk into a worse scene than what we already witnessed downstairs.” Dean says this last part very fast and Castiel misses a few words but he gets the gist.

“Oh. Then yes please.” Dean chucks a shirt at him, this time he actually catches it. “Bathroom?” He questions as he bends down to pick up the dropped pants.

Dean laughs. “Now you’re bashful? You know I’ve seen you naked before, right?” He’s in the process of changing his own pants and Castiel’s cheeks heat with a mixture of embarrassment and desire. Castiel promptly turns away from the sight and begins to change his own clothes. The sheets from the bed rustle and he turns to find Dean under the covers, waiting for Castiel to join.

Dean holds up the covers so Castiel can slide under; Castiel stays a respectable distance away. “I don’t bite you know; unless you ask nicely.” There’s a Cheshire grin on Dean’s face should make Castiel nervous, but doesn’t. Castiel wasn’t aware his cheeks could get any warmer, but apparently he’s been mistaken. And how did Dean manage to turn him into a blushing virgin in only five minutes? “Come here, you,” he says as he manhandles Castiel on to his side facing Dean.

Dean wraps his arms around Castiel’s waist to pull him ever closer. It’s comfortable in an extremely intimate way that he’s never experienced before. Castiel sees that look on Dean’s face again; the one that makes him feel precious and wanted and tingly all over. He’s only ever seen that look directed at him by Dean. He’s not sure it’s something he can handle. Castiel has given that look to others, but no has ever returned it. He needs to change this into something he understands fast.

He presses their lips together in a messy, wet kiss. Castiel’s hands work down Dean’s chest and one worms into Dean’s pants to get at his cock. He manages to get a good grip on Dean and starts a fast rhythm; his other hand is attempting to get Dean’s boxers and pants down and off. Castiel is hoping that Dean gets with the program soon.

“Cas. Cas stop! Stop! Cas!” No such luck.  Dean’s hands are on Castiel’s face and bring their gazes together. Castiel is still giving a half-hearted try at getting Dean naked. Dean drops his hands to pull Castiel’s out of his pants. “Cas stop. Please. Look at me. Not that I don’t enjoy a nice spontaneous handjob Cas, but I have a feeling there’s some other reason behind your behavior. So tell me; what is this about Cas?” There’s something intense in Dean’s eyes and Castiel can’t look in them anymore.

Castiel shakes his head. He doesn’t want to talk about his problems right now. “Why don’t you want to have sexual relations with me Dean?”

A frustrated sigh comes from Dean. “I do want to have sex with you Cas.”

“Then why don’t you? Why do you keep stopping me?” Castiel is frustrated. His eyes are prickling with tears. And gosh, how many times is he going to cry in front of Dean?

“I don’t want to stop. Trust me. I would rather just give in and let this go where you intended, but I can’t Cas. I like you too much. I want to speed this up so bad, but I need to take things slow. For me. For us. Ok? I don’t want to ruin this and I have a history of ruining relationships.” Castiel looks up. He can see how sincere Dean is being. It’s too much. The tears start to fall. Dean’s arms are around him; and he’s whispering nonsense into Castiel’s hair, randomly peppering Castiel’s face with kisses and rubbing soothing circles on his back. “Shh. It’s ok Cas. I know something bad has happened to you. I know we need to talk about it, but not tonight. Later, we’ll both talk because there’s stuff we both need to know before we can move forward.”

Dean continues soothing Castiel through his tears. Eventually Castiel falls asleep exhausted from crying. Dean’s arms wrap a little tighter around Castiel. Before he drifts off to dreamland he whispers “I think I might love you Cas,” into the stubble covered skin of Castiel’s jaw.
