Mesh, the fact that you recognize that you want to be close to God and you feel you are not right now is the first step of being closer to Him. With that I think you will come to recognize that in every decision you make each day regarding what you do, think or say can either be a step forward or a step backward from being closer to Him. The joy of it all is that when we drift, God doesn't move. He stays right where He was, He doesn't move along the journey without us. He also gives us time to make the decision to come back to Him. Look back to where you were when you were close to Him. Imagine a road that goes straight, and there is a fork in it. Imagine yourself walking down that fork away from God. Now imagine yourself looking back at the beginning of the fork. Do you see Him? It's Jesus. Mesha, He's standing right there, His arms are open wide waiting for you to return to Him so you two can continue the journey together. Turn around, Mesh. Everything that's in front of you in that fork in the road measures up to nothing in
