Thought in the Bathroom

If you could see the direction and velocity of every atom in the universe in relation to every other one, you could successfully predict all the interactions they would have and thus everything that would result from them. Stars, planets, oceans, trees, fog, small little frogs, all of it. But wait, what about human will? Since when do humans obey ( Read more... )

We're assuming you COULD know the velocity and direction of all particles, which is obviously violating Heisenberg. Assuming the transmission of force between two impacting bodies remains linear all the way down to the atomic scale (and I don't know of any reason why it shouldn't, even down to Planck scale [except possibly for quantum foam - and that's just a theory]), it could certainly be possible to predict things like this - except that there's no way of knowing the incidence of radioactive decay on an atom by atom basis.

And yes, I do Quantum Physics much.
