The Balia story!!
Baal is a Tok'ra or minor Goa'uld working under Anubis and Melia is ascended and watching a planet and when Baal shows up there, she sees him (cue: lust) and retakes human form (not descended yet) to mix in with the village there in order to meet him. They fall for each other and she descends, after which they keep their affair going (she moves planets to follow him) but eventually Anubis finds out he's a tok'ra and turns him into a Goa'uld using the sarcophogus and torture. Or, in the already-Goa'uld version, he tortures Baal, making him forget Melia and making him much worse. (This is how Nuby finds out about the Ancients.) Now Melia would've stayed with Baal anyway, but she finds out she's pregnant, and leaves Baal for the sake of her child. She can't reascend because she's pregnant and the other ancients frown on her decending and having a affair with a mortal. So, to protect her child from the goa'uld and the wrath of the other ancients she gets the location of the time machine from Janus, and uses it to go to our time. There she has a son(John Sheppard) and gives him up to a family on Earth. Melia stays behind on Earth to watch over her son from a distance and to make sure he's not only safe, but has no knowledge of his true parentage, especially making sure he has no Goa'uld memories. Before she dies, she does get to see him leave for Atlantis, though no doubt she has no idea he's going back to her old home, but merely that he's leaving. Despite not knowing the truth or who his parents were, he still never felt like he quite fit in on Earth or with his family, causing tension to rise between them and eventually being the reason why he doesn't say goodbye to them before he leaves. (With him gone she eventually dies, and in a lighter version of the story she ascends but is no longer allowed to interfere to protect her son, while in the dark version she doesn't ascend again.)
Too bad Cliff didn't understand and make it CANON.... :P
