if I'm a sucker for anything in film, it's gorgeously hand-drawn animation, and particularly complex, lush and lovely backgrounds.

Look at this beautiful thing. Look at it. I must see this film.

That's really nostalgic, it looks just like the French animations from the 1960s. I was going to say that they don't make films like that any more, but apparently they do!

It is a gorgeous, funny thing of bittersweetness (by the man/people who made Belleville Rendezvous, which is equally so) that along the way manages to convey French and Scottish accents without words. You definitely should acquire and watch it.
