West Wing, Spoilers, and Weekend in NY

I'm making a real effort not to be spoiled for the rest of the episodes. If any of you fabulous people discuss possible spoilers, it would be great if you hid them behind a cut - it requires more willpower than I actually posess to avert my eyes. Thank you! :)

And speaking of cuts, a couple of thoughts on tonight's episode...

Favorite line: "I like to tart it up for a funeral" (and C.J. putting her hair up. She never put's it up).

Loved the tears in Matt's (I can call him Matt since he's not technically president yet, right?) eyes at the funeral.

The brave face Jed put on just before going into the reception just broke my heart.

Charlie offering to walk out with Toby.

Donna's uncertainty at where she stands with Josh but her determination to plow on ahead.

I join dianora2 in shrieking at the teaser.

Overall, I will have to say I'm somewhat disappointed, however, as I would have preferred less Speaker of the House storyline and more of the funeral. Surprisingly, though, John Wells didn't call to ask my thoughts beforehand.

On another topic, I just got back from a great weekend in NYC, where I saw, among other lovely people, the aforementioned dianora2, arabellasq, and melissa_tlc. As Dia mentioned on her journal, Friday night was spent in part re-living the hilarious awfulness of "Dead as a Doorman", which starred a really young and really hot Bradley Whitford. Other NY delightfulness:

*The Essex has great food (lower, lower Manahattan)
*A rice pudding restaurant. OMG. LIKE CRACK.
Visit the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company for all of your superhero-ing needs, from capes to 1 gallon buckets of Omnipotence (the place actually fronts for 826NYC, a volunteer-run non-profit that supports creative writing in students 6-18 - it's very clever).
*Picket Fence restaurant in Brooklyn (gosh, another food rec - how surprising), for incredible fried chicken and macaroni and cheese.

OK, late, brother in town, tax prep angst - must crash.
