I'm scared of my television. Is that normal?

Three weeks ago, I bought a 32" inch LG LCD TV from Best Buy. Week before last, it started to freak out (setup menu flashing, nothing could be done about it) so I returned it, and even though I was PERFECTLY HAPPY with the 32", I let D and chanel19 convince me it was rubbish and got a 40" Sony. It's so HUGE and LOOMING. I'm seriously worried it may kill me ( Read more... )

Where does the toast go? In the top, or in the sides, which are longer?

Maybe it's double deep - so you can toast four pieces, but stacked instead of side-by-side?

Obviously, it's bigger on the inside, so you could put a whole loaf in one tiny slot. Duh.

Sounds like a wonderful week - and a lot of fun. Thanks for the text games last night. Kirky had her head in fanfic and I was bored waiting for the train.

Every so often I catch an old episode of Buck Rogers. Sheesh....what cheese. Yet I religiously watched the serious as a kid. Go figure. I guess the same could be said for the He-Man, Snorks, and Thundercats cartoons too.

You are evil, and I hope that Voldemort laughs at you menacingly at night.

So when do I get to see Dr. Who on it? :D

The 40" is totally going to eat you. Isn't that so big you have to be five miles away to properly see the picture? Whenever I'm in front of a 40" (which admittely isn't that often) I get the same feeling as I get in the front row of a movie theatre. A crick in the neck and you can't see the whole picture for all the pixels. Y HELO THAR NOSE HAIR!

Supposedly, optimal viewing from a 40" LCD is 10' - although that's for full ratio (16:9). I mostly watch DVDs that were made for 4:3, which makes the image appear smaller on the screen.

Even so, I think you're right and I'm at risk of being a snack. :shudder
