So after reading your post and never hearing anything about Primer I went out and rented it. I'm still mixed about the whole thing. It's definitely a different variety of movie so i feel unjust holding to standards of other movies. I think I would have to see it again, and again, for me to appreciate the story, but I so very much disliked the acting that i think that i might find that difficult to do.

Oh man, listening to Solaris score. That is my most favortie score ever. I can listen to it for hours.

solaris: excellent.

I liked the acting actually, and read that the director held auditions for months because he could find anyone who could act as casual as he wanted. Interesting.

The inspiring thing about the movie is the fact that it was made with a budget of only $7000 and managed to win Grand Jury prize at Sundance. Anyway, glad to hear your opinions.

The monetary feat is quite remarkable. And it was a good movie in that it had some very scary implications. At one point where they find their dopplegangers I was almost terrified at what was happening. As for the acting, it was their overuse of the interruption that I found to be distracting. Too casual and in turn becoming not casual at all but jumping lines.

What did you think of the remake of Solaris. I absolutely loved the continous 'feeling' throughout the movie. Calm but intesne, wet. The prolonged stares, moments of silence and of course, the music. The original put me to sleep.

yea, the original was pretty tiring, I can see why soderberg thought it had room to improve. The remake is beautiful, but I haven't seen it in awhile. I'll rewatch it soon.
