Hmmm I had that problem once...I THINK I solved it by restarting in safe mode, going to that screen then it allowed me to slide the bar, then restarted again (in windows) and voila..problem fixed. But I must mention that I am NOT very good with puters and I only think that that way is how I overcame it. Good luck....

What is your screen resolution set in settings?

640 - 480
it won't let me slide the bar to change it.
