Had a great weekend in the Wolseley Holiday lodges near Tullow. Very, very nice lodge, loads of space, comfortable beds etc

Wow the food must have been pretty dire for so much of it to be comped off!

the starters (goat's cheese, chicken caesar salad) were all excellent except for the mussels. as about 9 mussels didn't open which is a lot.

Two of us had the fish pie which was fine though could have done with more sauce. Two got chicken red thai curry.....bland, loads of chicken but very little sauce (looked awful).

One had scampi....over cooked and cold.
two had monkfish....over cooked and inedible.
We also got 2 rhubarb crumbles which were gorgeous but cold.

the people beside us also sent back food.

This is suppose to be a 4 star hotel!

I am not a big fan of pub grub generally. In my view most of it should go back.

this was not really traditional pub grub....more like a restaurant in a lounge! and monkfish at 25 euro is hardly pub grub.

I usually find pub grub to be good,wholesome food and reasonable. Depends where you go of course.
