I don't think people are telling you these things because they think you're an idiot.
They're saying it because they care and don't want you to get hurt.
If they didn't care about you, they'd let you do whatever the hell you wanted to.
Sure, maybe it's none of their business, but they think they're doing what's best.

I think comparing war and frivolous highschool drama is one of the poorest metaphors I've ever heard. Seriously, you need to stop acting like this stuff is a big deal; criticism and insulting humor is something everyone has to live with, and frankly, it's not all that affecting. (this is also partially directed to megadeuce)
