The campus social scene flashed brightly in his mind. All the alcohol and drugs and girls and noise screamed at him. They wanted him there. He quickly snapped back to reality and refocused his attention to the passing landscape beyond the car window. Now, more than ever, Reuben was glad to be headed home

That is a really really good story. The descriptions are incredible. It gives you a very vivid mental picture of the scenes. I really like it.
