That takes Gwen a little off guard, and she laughs briefly with a shake of her head. "What do you mean, me?" she asks, something vaguely strained behind her smile. "Things are finally back to normal now, no need to worry about me."

Chase gave her a quiet look, the worry not fading from his face, not one bit. "Gwen," he said lightly. "I heard about what happened." In an officious way, too, all papers and terms that were about three spaces removed from how they should have been.

"Which part?" Gwen asks, because by that point she really doesn't know. She assumes he means Sylar, but it's been a difficult few months, and she'd not told them anything about the amnesia. She'd not told anyone.

"I'm fine. It's fine," she insists, and gives his hand a squeeze.

Chase gave her a wary look, not sure he was ready to just accept that. "You're okay with this...whoever his name was...his death," he said, trying to settle on the words. He squeezed her hand in return, using the leverage to pull her closer and into a tight hug. "I want you to be safe. Safe and comfortable and happy."

Something turns sharp and cold in Gwen's gaze, just long enough to be noticed, and she answers, "I would have killed him myself had I been able." It's the absolute truth, and while part of her hates that she's capable of something like that now, she can't be sorry for it.
