Kaylee is the youngest and only daughter in a family with four older boys.

As a child, Kaylee loved dolls, but her mother wouldn't buy her new ones because she would get their dresses dirty. Kaylee didn't really mind.

She's secretly a big sci-fi geek and thinks that Earth-That-Was movies about space travel are adorable and quaint. Star Wars is definitely her favorite (the ORIGINAL trilogy, biznatches).

Mal reminds Kaylee a lot of her Daddy, except for how her Daddy could fix things when they broke without getting shot.

She wasn't ever homesick until she came to camp.

Kaylee has every intention of marrying Simon and having a brood of children. She doesn't particularly care what anyone has to say against this dream, including Simon.

She hopes one of them will be like Coraline.

After Miranda, Kaylee re-evaluated her priorities. High adventure and romance like in books really pretty much sucked to live through. Like her pretty pink gown of horror it was fun to pretend, but when it came down to it, she really didn't want it.

Kaylee uses the zombies for target practice when she thinks no one is watching her. She's afraid of ever being in a situation where she can't defend herself or her adopted brood. But she often throws up afterwards.

She's sometimes jealous of how River always gets Simon's attention, but she's also fiercely proud that Simon loves his sister enough to care for her despite all the work.

Almost all her nightmares are about Miranda, but she doesn't remember that when she wakes up.

Before she started sleeping with Simon, Kaylee slept with a teddy bear. When Simon's not there, she still does.

Kaylee's father insisted that her mother take her to the town infirmary for birth control shots after her twelfth birthday, because he knew from experience that his children were interested in more than just engines. He was not remiss in this. Kaylee lost her virginity at age fifteen to a racer pilot in return for being able to get into the engine of a top-of-the-line racing mule. She considers this fair trade and only remembers the engine, not the sex or the pilot.

When she could, she used to send her family money. Though she'd never tell anyone, she secretly worries that not getting that money now is hurting the family, even though it was such a small amount that it really didn't make a difference.

Kaylee's favorite thing about camp is the food.

She's slightly upset that it was River who built Simon's leg. However, it's more than made up for in the fact that she gets to do maitenence on it.

Despite the way she talks, Kaylee did moderately well in school. She just didn't have as much interest in her studies as she did in computers and mechanics.

On Serenity, Kaylee didn't truly consider herself an adult. She didn't realize this. At camp, she does. The main difference is that no one calls her mei-mei anymore and there's no adult protecting her. She's not sure when she went from the cared-for to the caring-for, and she's not sure which way she likes it better.

Once Simon learns to walk on it, Kaylee will find the automail leg incredibly sexy.

Yes, she did bring a vibrator to camp. At least one.
