Many thanks you's. It was taken with a little cheating, but not photoshopping afterwards.

I think the exif data is on flickr somewhere, I shall have a look, but I think it was a case of iso 200, and then playing with the f-lock and exposure to get the dramatic look. The cheating way is to point the camera at the sun, hold the EOF lock button to lock the autosettings, and then move the camera to frame what you actually want.
