how long does it take to get approval for life saving surgery?

In my case, it takes 6 months, 1 week, and COUNTING!  I completed my 6 month program that Tufts requires, and it's been a week since the surgeon submitted the rest of my information.  I am told that I *should* get approved this week and have a surgery date for sometime in November (no Thanksgiving for me!).  Send good vibes my way!!!!!
