Hi there!
I'm new to this community and before I start trying all the beautiful designs here I have a question:
Can I use elastic thread instead of nylon thread?
Thanks for your help.
Edit: Many thanks for your advise. Now I can start.

I would like to add that most of the tutorials here, I used a fishing nylon thread. It's widely used in my country and Japan. It is the same as Beadalon Supplemax (0.25mm/8lb). The thread is very strong and a bit thick, you can hand weave it without using needle. It's very good for crossweaving project.
Most beaders I know used fireline. I did not use it much but it's very good and strong. Since it's a bit expensive and hard to find in my country, I rarely used it. I'm sure it won't be a problem if you're in US or Europe. But if you're new to beadweaving, maybe you can try with Nymo.
I won't recommend using elastic on any project that required beadweaving. But if you want to do some easy stringing with lovely beads, yes, elastic is okay.
