Having seen all those snow pictures in some journals I promised to show how the weather is in Germany at the moment. Actually I am on holidays in a small town in the Eifel, that is near Cologne/Aachen/the border to Belgium. If you want to google it: Schmidt or Nideggen would be the town you have to look for....

Some trees have no more leaves but most have at least brown leaves....
don't let me think of snow!!! We had enough last winter....

We have mixed deciduous and coniferous forest a lot, so no wonder we have Fall foliage. Especially the low mountain range area of the Eifel (the place we visited) and Sauerland/Siegerland and Schwarzwald have this mixed woodland....In the higher Bavarian Forest and of course the Alps you find more coniferous forest only, which means no Fall Foliage.
Peter (my husband) never wanted to be in a picture, but he just stood there and so I took that pic...Lucy couldn't hold still for a moment, she was sniffing through the leaves sounding like a Truffle-swine!
That last of the skulls..Ooo..ugh...awww.. :( Looks like something pre-historic, actually..but was probably a horse or cow or something?
It is actually to small for a cow or a horse....Might be the skull of a wild animal...a deer or a fox maybe. Or of a dog that escaped from home and did not find the way back. It was in the brushwood near an open field, half covered with leaves. The lower jaw was missing, I just found this. Last winter was ( ... )
