Running: Back to Basics

I've been run/walking after work each day for a couple weeks now, to enhance my diet and fitness goals.     I love to walk and hike, and I'm good at it, but my bod has never been happy about running.   That's just done a 180.  I hope it remains a permanent change.   Here's the deal...

Yeah, I've seem them, and they are mentioned in the book as well.

I dunno... they look really cook, but imagining the feeling of the individual toes kinda freaks me out. :-) I bet I'd like them after getting used to them... but I'm also cheap, so I'm hesistant to shell out $100+ for a pair.
