Today's curse is very strange, isn't it? The City's wearing a different face today- everything's different: the buildings, the machines, even our clothes! I found these goggles on my head when I woke up! And my key now looks like this today. How strange

[Uta had been on her way home, taking the time to walk around the City to clear her head about a lot of things. She wonders why she has a pink, Victorian styled dress on for the day, and a parasol even though it's night.]

[Her attention is turned to the carousel when Toccata de Fugue began playing... surprised to see Sakura was there too, riding what ressembled a witche's broom with wings on the end of it.]

Sakura-chan?

[She looked up to where Sakura landed, and decided to climb up after her. Finally reaching the rooftop, Uta rushed over, in a lady-like manner, to her side.]

H-hey, Sakura-chan, I don't think we should be outside with this... crazy curse.

We have to see what's going on, Uta-chan. Whenever the carousel acts weird, there's always a reason. [ Despite talking to Uta, she's all eyes on the carousel. ] It might be a warning.

[ There was a reason why nobody rode on the carousel. One needn't magic to tell them that there something off with the mechanism - something suspicious and seemingly deadly behind that bright lacquered paint and mirrors. ]

[She was worried Sakura would fall off... or she would fall off for that matter, but the carousel did look weirder than usual.]

...why do you think that it's a warning?

[ She gave the wings on her back a shake, as she turned to smile at Uta ]

Because the carousel never does that, right? It's always so quiet. There's never any music or people actually riding it...

[Syaoran was always wandering the streets of the City, it seemed. Today he was fascinated by all of the steam-powered and shiny-geared implements. Despite feeling sort of silly in his costume for the day, he was taking in the sights before they disappeared into the night.]

[When he heard the music, he started in surprise. He headed toward it without even thinking, but skidded to a stop when he felt Sakura's magic nearby.]

[Even if she wasn't the Sakura he knew, she was... the closest he'd get. He fingered the phone in his pocket and called up to her.]

You promised you'd call!

[She'd said she'd made the same promise with his other self, after all.]

Hoe?

[ She was momentarily distracted from the carousel, her attention now focused on her phone. It had been a long time since she had heard that ring tone - a special one she'd set for Syaoran-kun - since after their ordeal with Eriol.

But how did it ring the same, if it wasn't her Syaoran-kun? Unless it was him, calling from back in Tomoeda. That wasn't possible, was it? ]

Syaoran-kun? [ her voice is soft, hesitant ]

[He hesitates for just a second. It's... it's nice to hear her say his name again.]

You said you'd call when something weird was going on. You made the same promise, right?

I'm sorry, I forgot ... it's been a long time since that number- [she pauses, suddenly changing gears] I'm up on the roof of the one of the buildings near the carousel. Can you come, Li-kun?

It's never a good thing when the carousel acts strange. I ... don't know, but I think it has to be a warning. Or a sign.

[ Clow had been out inspecting the barrier for much of the day, thinking that there might be something to it of note now that it had turned into a series of electrified columns, but in reality he was no more productive than usual. He was just calling it a day and heading home when the giant Tesla coils slid up from the tops of each building and began... singing.

If you could call it that.

He was a ways away from the center of the City by this point, but he could still just barely make out a tiny winged figure on the top of one of the taller buildings. Something appeared to be going on and, as he had no idea what, he did the sensible thing and checked the network. ]

Why so? [ Was all he asked when he had seen a post which at least explained what Sakura was doing on top of a building. ]

[ Sakura had felt Clow's magic as he passed, wondering to herself is she should seek him out. However, he was of course two steps of ahead. ]

It's never like this, Clow-san.

You think it's dangerous? [ He didn't sound worried, just curious. After all, he had never seen tentacles or anything like that come out of the carousel and it took more than a bunch of Tesla coils to disturb him.

There was no reason why it couldn't be bad, however, so he supposed it might be wisest to wait and see. ]

[ The tentacles had appeared when Riou tried to escape the City with other volunteers. There had been other things in the past, but her memory was too foggy. ]

The carousel always felt strange, and now its acts up like this. There has to be a reason!
