Bit of a panic out and about, it seems! Don't suppose anyone has a use for a twenty-third century Chief Engineer, then? Otherwise I'll be happy to keep my head down and continue tinkering with some of these ah... Macintosh thingamajigs. Twenty-first technology has so many superfluous bits tacked on for no discernible reason that I can see. It's a ( Read more... )

The library! I completely forgot! Is there anyone there besides yourself, Mr. Scott?

What?! What! The library! The library!

...

No, it's just me, old chap. What's the latest news, then?

From what I've learned of your reality since meeting you, perhaps a summary would be best. Mad scientist, destroys worlds, won't bloody stay dead. Here.

The Admiral's first mistake is in thinking Davros is redeemable, which immediately leads me to wonder what else is amiss and what safety we've got 'til he makes a move. I strongly suggest you retire, either to your room, the pub or the infirmary. We've not yet erected the force fields, so you may still go to them without the aid of Kurt's transm- er, teleportation. I'm doing modifications to the one I'm building, to strengthen it and mend the figurative chinks... I might even enlist your aid, if you're up to it. For once, my confidence in my own genius is shadowed only by my knowledge of his prowess.

Been poking my head into every bit of intel I possess, but I haven't been able to narrow down specific powers, mate. What's he got that gives him the upper hand?

I can build phaser shields if that's what you're asking, but if it's a specific kind of energy you need, I imagine it won't be too much trouble. Have you talked to Adric? I get the feeling he and I could fulfill any order you could make if we put our heads together.

I'll find my way to the infirmary, then.

Scotty listen, Jim's been... well, brainwashed is the best way I can put it. It'll wear off in a day or two but see if you can keep an eye on the network and make sure no one's going to use this to their advantage.

[have a tired sigh.] Never a damn dull moment alright.

Oh, righto, then. Been doing a bit of ah... unlocking on various communications floating about, admittedly, to keep myself from going batty. S'pose a sensible application isn't too far a request. Consider it done.

You need a hand with anything else, old chap?

Thanks Scotty.

[a pause and some rifling] Lord knows my regenerator could use a once over, and my phaser for that matter. Besides Jim or Spock you're probably the only one who can even make a damn bit of sense out of them.

Aye, but I make better than sense! I make upgrades! It's like givin' a Tellarite a puppy for Christmas dinner.

Spoke with the other Doctor -- the fifth one, are y'familiar with the bloke? -- and told him I'd be at the infirmary. So I'll be down in a jiff.

Don't suppose you have any extra infirmary equipment lying about that'd be available for a bit of a... modification? We'll need as many parts as we can scrounge if everything about this Davros fellow comes true.

Absolutely! Is she on some sort of extended sabbatical? I haven't seen her in a bit.

I hardly think that you should be worrying about getting under any skirts right now.

I trust that you will explain what exactly you changed so that we can keep up with it, thank you very much.

No, not at all. I think it'd be best to let the library workers struggle with extravagant software upgrades until the whole place falls apart!

I thought as much.

The upgrades are completely userfriendly. If you could use any of the equipment previously, you'll be able to operate this particular ditty with no error. Even if you're a caveman, mate.
