Do you have to be a paid member to make your journal friends only..and if not then how do you do it

Nope, nope... I'm a free user :)
When you're making a new entry there's a thing at the bottom that says "You're looking at the simple page. For more options, click here." Then where it says "Security Settings" select friends, and you're all set! :D Hope that helps.

Oh yeah...
If you want to change your exisiting entries, go to edit entries, and do the same thing. The only sucky part is you have to do it to each individual entry.
