Red alert is the color of panic

HELLO! Last weekend was Greeeeen Daaaay! The concert was amazing, omg.

So, I think that in hopes of keeping this (kind of) short, I'm going to put all the text and pictures together under the cut.

Me and Amy left on Friday. We caught an earlier ferry than originally planned which is always good. AND the two of us totally finished the infamous ferry cake!! That's the empty plate up there. I'm pretty sure we've never finished it just the two of us before...at least not without being painfully full.

My uncle picked us up, and he brought my 2 cousins Jared and Kyle. Jared is 11 and Kyle is 8 months old. Kyle is really adorable, but he was crying the whole way back to their house which kind of sucked. He was really good the rest of the weekend though, he's a super happy baby normally.

Awwwww.

So that night was boring but the next day was Green Day day! We got down to the venue at like noon, and there were like this many people there pretty much:

And the line basically stayed like that until like 5 or 5:30...seriously no one lined up until then, it was so weird. Everyone just kind of hung out in clusters around the venue and casually mosied on over at an hour until doors. Totally different than FOB or any other large-ish concert I've been to.

So, sitting there for 6 hours or so was pretty boring. Amy decided to colour a whole notebook page in black with a ballpoint pen. It took about an hour. We also played cards and hangman and I wrote some haikus...idk it felt like a long time when we were sitting there but once the concert started it felt like about half an hour.

SPEAKING OF THE CONCERT WE TOTALLY GOT BARRIER LOOK

We look retarded, but that black thing is the barrierrrr omg. I seriously did not expect it at all. Like, even when I saw where we were in the line and everything, totally didn't expect it. Now for Blink on the 28th I'll be so sad if we don't get the barrier, it's like I'm setting myself up for failure (but hopefully not because omg how awesome would that be)

The Bravery went on a 8:00. They were ehhhh, idk. I only knew one song of theirs beforehand, and the singer seemed super cracked out the whole time, but they were alright. The crowd was all polite and everything but obv no one was there just to see them.

Omg though, you know how people usually go all crazy over bands' setlists? Well theirs was passed to a security guard when they were done and no one in the crowd cared at all, it was pretty hilarious/depressing. I'm pretty sure it stayed on the floor here the rest of the show.

Green Day! Drunk Bunny!

Yayyyyy!

So, I'm pretty sure this was the setlist:

21st Century Breakdown
Know Your Enemy
East Jesus Nowhere
Holiday
Static Age
Before the Lobotomy
Are We The Waiting
Geek Stink Breath
Hitchin’ a Ride
Brain Stew
Jaded
Longview
Basket Case
She
King For A Day/Shout
Stand By Me
21 Guns
American Eulogy

Encore:
American Idiot
Jesus of Suburbia
Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Minority
Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

I stole this from favorite_son btw, my memory isn't that good.

More picturessss. I actually didn't take that many, which was intentional. I got a few okay ones though.

This guy was brought up to sing Longview, we totally recognized him from the line. He was good, and so was the guy who played guitar during Jesus of Suburbia.

During Good Riddance. I couldn't actually see whenever anyone was on the little aisle thing coming off the stage because I'm so short, but Amy took a few pictures and I could see it in the screen on my camera. Also I stole some confetti before we left, I love that stuff.

That was it! The whole concert was amazing, they played for a little over 2 hours but obv it's never long enough. I think this concert kind of jump-started my interest in Green Day, especially in the new album.

On Sunday we had lunch with my dad, which was good. We went to Burgoo again, but a different location. Apparently there are three in Vancouver. It was good catching up I guess, and the fondue was amazing again. I had the grilled cheese again and Amy had the mac and cheese. It was a very cheesy lunch. Har har har.

Then we went Playland, predictable but always fun! Amy was feeling ballsy (that was the world of the day) and went on way more rides than I did, but it was still totally awesome. Also, we got really hyper at some point, and Amy created her alter-ego Platinum after getting this amazing fake tattoo...

I payed for the sassy part. I wish it was a for-real tattoo, it would be so amazing. Also, Platinum's last name is Titatium and she's 90% bacon, 5% cottage cheese and 5% sass (Jordan). Just in case you were wondering.

Random Kyle picture! He's not actually smiling in any of the pictures I took of him, but trust me he's super happy.

That night we watched Big Fish...it was a very good movie. The next day we went to Science World. Look, Science World!

There was a Scream! exhibit on, it was all about fears. It was pretty cool. We also saw an Omnimax movie about skydiving and cliff jumping and shit, it was neat.

We caught an earlier ferry than planned again on the way back, and Amy got all the supplies (saran wrap, tape, lotion) necessary to trick her boyfriend Kris into thinking her Sassy Thug tattoo was real...but then copped out at the last minute. DISAPPOINTING. It was totally going to work, I swear.

K, this is so long. I hope the pictures kept you interested though!
