So...the BBC announced the actor to play the Eleventh Doctor today.
It's David Tennant...THE BETA VERSION.
I mean...WHAT? WTF, BBC? What happened to Paterson Joseph? What happened to doing something different? Why are we going with another pretty white boy? (Okay, not nearly as pretty as DT. But I'm sure when he's done up for promo shots...) Don't get me wrong, I LOVE DT. But I wanted something...different.
I'm not as annoyed as I was ten minutes ago. Apparently the people who've seen his work think he's been good. So I'm trying to be optimistic, and he'll get his shot with me. But I'll be honest; my expectations for the next series have been dramatically lowered.
*sighs* Hopefully, I'll look back on this post and laugh at how wrong I was.
(And I now desperately want the companion to be significantly older, if just for the age dynamics being so drastically altered. It could be interesting.)

He looks kind of like an itty-bitty Eccleston...with Tennant's hair. In other words (as someone on Journalfen apparently put it), Jack will shit himself when he sees THIS. LOL.
