Hahaha.

Our version of Microsoft didn't pass the WGA validation.

On the brand-new computer.

Mom is going to be so fucking pissed.

...huh

If it's truly counterfeit, that means Mom paid for pirated software. And we'll have to pay again to get proper Windows. So yeah. Really annoying.

could be the activation thing? Usually you have to tell it to activate, then it will validate. With ours we had to call a phone number and read out some 16 digit code and get a validation code or somesuch. Rather annoying. You'd think with a new computer, though, that the people who installed the OS would have taken the time to activate it.

Hopefully it turns out ok

I read something about activation, but I couldn't figure out how to do it if that's the case.

Also, I have to use on-screen keyboard right now because our keyboard just...died this morning. Right after I posted some comments, it stopped working. Its still plugged in and the Keyboard Properties says it's working, but it's obviously not.

Yeah. I don't know. The computer gods hate us or something.
