Falling Quietly to Earth

She lay beside me breathing lightly in the moonlight that fell on her fair face. I could see her eyelids flicker with movement and a slight smile appears on her lips. I wonder what she’s dreaming of, and wish that I could join her there. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I empty my mind, but the unrelenting stress which keeps me awake remains
