Sometimes, you have to hold them just so that YOU can get some sleep while they sleep in your arms. I do this a lot with the baby I take care of because I literally have NOTHING else I can put him in. No crib, no playpen... he's too large for the bouncers and stuff. It's co-sleeping or NO sleeping until they get here to pick him up at 2:30AM.
When she gets older, you'll be able to put her in her own bed. She might have to cry for a little while, but it wont hurt her.
That's what Jacob's parents have been doing, anyway. He was literally okay after two nights. His dad says he put him in his crib, closed the door, and went to smoke a cigarette outside. By the time he came back in, Jacob was laying down and quiet. He did the same the next night. On the third night, he just laid down when he was put in his crib.
sounds tough bb! i've never had a baby, so unfortunately i don't have any real advice on the baby front! i work with them, but not newborns. my expertise is with toddlers and preschoolers!!
thankfully this stage doesn't last forever! she'll grow out of it before you know it :)
We went through that A LOT and still are. Since we moved Avery hasn't been sleeping well so she ends up in bed with us quite a bit. But it will get better! Just look at that beautiful face when she is sleeping and know you did that!
