Most everyone knows I am originally from Philly. Grew up in NE Philly. Interestingly, while checking on the inevitable transit strikes that seem to have plagued the city for YEARS, I came across this little gem

wow, i am glad i never had to wear uniforms, though Whitney does, but she is at Catholic school, which is different.

Also, she isn't require to buy anything with the school logo embroidered on it. Stuff like that is always expensive. And the fact that this is public school is even worse. I know most places have a free lunch program for kids who can't afford school lunch, which you think *might* be a sign that school uniforms would not be affordable either!
