Eden Espinosa and me
Last night I along with beg1n and dhbearguy went to the Hotel Nikko's Rrrazz Room to see singer/ actress Eden Espinosa perform an eclectic and satisfying set of songs from her forthcoming CD. Eden, who's been seen on Broadway (as well as on tour) in Wicked, Brooklyn, and the final Broadway company of RENT possesses one miraculous set of pipes. Toward the end of last night's set, featuring both obscure and familiar pieces, I was tickled when I heard recognized one ditty being played: Sally's Song from Nightmare Before Christmas! A simple tune from a Disney animated picture turned into a full on torch number! Amazing. Throw in covers of Joni Mitchell, Dusty Springfield & Cyndi Lauper standards and I was hooked.
After the Show EE signed autographs and spoke to fans, below is a pic snapped of us by Dave. I've no idea what the look on my face is, I look whacked. Eden, radiant. It was a fantastic and unforgettable night shared with the boys, and I thank them both for doing so.
