Woot!

Well folks, I've done it, I've actually got the Etsy shop set up at
http://www.beard5.etsy.com
I'm still taking pictures of my finished jewelry projects and getting them up there, but now, now there's something there.

Wish me luck!

Congrats!

One thing though? You seriously need to make a necklace manikin, even if it is just a half sphere pillow under your drape cloth - it is kind of hard to see the beading pattern on your wave pieces, and they would just look more *presented* on a manikin, no?

Very spiff stuff!!!

Great shop, and excellent banner!

One of the things that will get you noticed is the quality of your photos. The red and gold contrast is a great start. Try using the forums, too, in Promotions - enter the threads that include "new" or colors.

Jewelry stands, trees, and displays are easily available through Etsy and eBay - although I am more preferable towards something unique. A jewelry pillow works, but whatever you choose, make sure you set the piece on at least 1 3-D presentation, and place the picture against a background that does not distract from the piece itself.

Otherwise... looks like you've got some good stuff up. I hearted you a moment ago, and if you have any questions, feel free to schmooze. (Don't forget to use your tags, too).

It does look great already though.

I have a quick question for people who already use shops like this:

Is it a good idea to include something in the photo that shows scale, or is that just distracting?

Sorry about the delay in responding (It's been a bit nuts over here for the last couple weeks)

There's a lot of discussion on the boards at Etsy re: scale markers. I think they're handy for those things where the scale really isn't clear, like embroidery closeups but I think they're distracting for jewelry. But, as always, Your Mileage May Vary.

(I *am* considering taking my pictures on a small mound of coffee beans, for just that reason, to show scale.)
