Starting a new brooch

I'm trying an experiment on this brooch, by actually keeping track of my inspiration and ideas for it. I want to take a single petal brooch, and maybe convert it to a flower (this makes sense to me, I think that it might be gibberish. Good afternoon folks! I'm really trying to finish this beastie this afternoon. Final update for the night...

It's 11:30(ish) and it's time to head home from the studio (of Doom!)
I reinforced the edge of the back with a whipped edging, attached the pin backing (a nicer one than I usually use, it's a nice find) and started the detached buttonhole stitch over gold thread. The plan to finish by tomorrow looks feasible. Woot!

Day two of the marathon...

Hi Folks! I'm finally back at the studio (took it easy this morning and afternoon) And here's the first update.
I've finished the wire edging, and now I'm attaching the petals. When that's done, I'll fray-check the edges. And then I'll put on the protective cover, and start working on the back.
Posts should happen every hour or so.
