Wheee!!! You should totally try it! The class I went to was super fun, everyone was really friendly, and there was a quite heartening and very wide array of body types and skill level. I had a blast. And because it's bouncy dance, you can decide for yourself how hard you want to dance, so it's easy to adjust the difficulty level for your own level of fitness.
I didn't like Zumba, call it one too many dance classes, but I was like, why is it 3 minutes of every dance possible? What are we *Learning*? What's my *Motivation*? It just felt silly and disconnected to me.
LOL oh Odin... And lol "where is my motivation?". I do great with Zumba if I don't at all think of it as a dance class. It is not, it's an aerobics class. Like Jazzercise but with better music (equally embarrassing, though). It is a bunch of silly loud music and an excuse to get some exercise dancing with a bunch of random strangers (as opposed to the same music and similar random dance for exercise done alone at home with my cats getting underfoot). It's TOTALLY silly, and not a dance class. But yay exercise with company! I found the whole thing hilarious.
The thing to remember about my relationship with Odin is that He likes to make me laugh, so He'll do random shit like show up to shadow a Zumba instructor, just to break my brain and get giggles out of me. This may be different than understanding the intricacies of finance... but I'm not honestly sure.
yes zumba can be loads of fun with the right people leading the class. Haven't seen Odin in there yet, but there are some great leaders out there. I like the ones who make it feel more like dancing than aerobics, say very little, have huge smiles and silly silly moves...
