change of season

The purple wild asters are just opening and the goldenrod is already in full bloom. Leaves of the other plants are taking on a yellow tinge or looking somewhat pale and sad. The air has suddenly chilled. We noticed all of this during our walk last evening.

Fall is here.

yep, our mums are blooming, in their full brown-ish fall color glory. Fall is coming for sure :P

We bought a pot of mums a few days ago for the front step. They have dark red flowers and green leaves, and look almost Christmas-like, even though it's too early.

I don't know much about mums really, just that they bloom in our yard in the fall and are definitely fall colors, rusty reds, browns yellows. When they bloom I always know summer is on the way out
