2021 was a good year for books for me. I read 60 books, well 10 of them were children's books, and a few very short ones but I also had several very long one including one of 1000 pages. I also read more than usual modern books that were not sci-fi and fantasy so that was a bit unusual. In fact, my top two were contemporary books. And I enjoyed

Of Mice and Magic remains my favorite, but I do like Ratpunzel a lot too :) And especially Heady in it.
So looking at this Burst's book was my favorite new series because I want to read the next one this year.

Lots f books in translation for you this year, and a lot in Russian. I barely squeaked through on having one each, but I want to up those totals... Also classics...
Glad to see that Ivan ended up being a favorite after his own book -- it had the same effect on me, too (and agreed the wedding scene was great -- such delightful chaos!). And agreed about El being more a character I liked and memorable.
And I want to finish the Vorkosigan Saga!
Have I given you my recommended reading order of the last couple of books pitch yet? I feel like I might have, but can't recall...

You did give me your pitch! And I'm saving Flowers of Vashtoi for last. It will be sort of nice but also sad to finish the series. It took me 5 years! I really love this series.
