It's been a few months since I wrote in this journal. The only time I really use it is when I am travelling, but I thought I'd get a head start on it before I saunter off to South America in January. We're in San Jose again awaiting our flight tomorrow. I always get soo emotional when I return form abroad. I miss everyone a bunch, and really am ready to come home, but I get these pangs of longing to stay out here. A wanderlust if you will. I just need to keep in mind that Peru awaits on the horizon. Well as the title states, we are officially back in Costa Rica, and boy if I'm not in culture shock. CR is sooooo much more developed than Nicaragua. There are tourists EVERYWHERE and everyone speaks ingles. I'm really surprised at my being shocked and offended when the locals speak to me in ingles. Well we are now in Managua, the capitol of Nicaragua. We only just arrived, but the people seem nice enough. I just have to say I won't be travelling with people I know ever again. I have one thing to say. SCREW GRANADA! Leon is where it´s at! The people are nicer, the scene has way more soul and the pollution factor isn´t so bad! We went to La Catredral de Leon este mañana (that´s yesterday to us gringos) and took a tour of the roof and the tombs in the basement. I have one month until I leave for Central America. I'll be travelling through Costa Rica and Nicaragua. If anyone who happens upon this has travelled through these countries and has some cool stories please let me know how your travels went. Thanks for your input.
