BEASTATTACK'S FIRST MINI BANG
Hello everyone,
The mods of beastattack have always wanted to do a little something for you, but between school and real life, we never really had the chance. But, as it is now summer, we are proud to present beastattack’s first mini bang!
For those who don’t know what a mini bang is: it is a writing challenge similar to the big bang, but rather than having to write a minimum of 10,000 words in the allotted time, the minimum word count is only 5,000. This is not a contest (i.e. there are no prizes), but all members of beastattack are encouraged to participate. If many people show interest and sign up, we will be more inclined to hold similar events in the future!
RULES & GUIDELINES
1. All fics must be a minimum of 5000 words.
2. Your fic must be only one* of the following eight genres: comedy, horror, drama, sci-fi, romance, mystery, action, or fantasy.
3. No crossovers or original characters. All main characters must be BEAST members.
4. A maximum of five (5)** people may sign up under each genre.
5 All sign-ups are first-come, first-served.
6. Sign-ups close June 10, 2011 at 11:59 PM PST.
7. First drafts (minimum 1000 words) are due June 24, 2011 by 11:59 PM PST.
8. Artists*** will choose the fic they wish to draw for by June 27, 2011 at 11:59 PM PST.
9. No more than one artist per fic; however, an artist may choose to draw for more than one fic.
10. Writers aren't permitted to illustrate their own fics; however, you may choose to write a fic and also illustrate for someone else.
11. Final copies and accompanying artwork are due July 29, 2011 by 11:59 PM PST.
12. If at any point you need an extension**** or to drop out, please contact the mods at beastattackmods[@]gmail.com at least 24 hours before the due date.
*Elements of other genres may be incorporated, but only if they are not essential to the overall storyline.
**Subject to change depending on the number of people who sign up.
***Original artwork only-no graphics, photo manipulations, etc.
****Please provide a reason. Although there should be no problem, the decision ultimately lies with the mods.
FORMATTING GUIDELINES

3. Mark all emphasis (ie. italics, boldface, any stylistic embellishments) using HTML tags.
4. Include the following at the beginning of your fic:
