Guttler for '06 Campaign

Jan 10, 2006 17:25

Seriously, I need suggestions. I've lost most/all my connections for currency, and I actually have enough gil to purchase about 1000-2000 currency now(provided it's the fair market price, not this 40-100k bullshit going on) . I found it funny that two members of IRON are actively trying to buy currency for their weapons, I thought that members ( Read more... )

I wish you'd stop talking about what IRON members due when you have no clue what the hell your talking about Lui. For the record, we are allowing people to purchase currency from the bank or through there own means to upgrade AF2 if they wish. And for the record, we never said you can't attempt your own weapon upgrade cause it will never happen, we said it's unlikely, but if your chosen to be upgraded, you have to supply some of the currency.

I make my comments based on my personal experience and ability to fling them with subtle sarcasm. Funny though how the policy had changed now that Tredvolt got his horn. The collective "we" you were referring to was not who I was referring to. I was referring to the opinions and attitudes I encountered when I first started the path of upgrading a year ago, not necessarily a public declaration of linkshell policy, but messages through /tell's, etc. that you don't know about (so you see, we both knows things the other doesn't know 100%). I understand your distaste for my comments, but that's why I have this LJ, to post my feelings towards topics of this nature. Another example of this hypocrisy (mainly in leadership) is the situation with Control being back allowed on your forums when his account was supposed to be banned ( ... )

Control was allowed back after a couple of months after talking to leadership under the understanding that if he pulls his crap again, he will get banned. Second, Tred was chosen by the leaders to be the first recpiant of a relic weapon. And yes, your comments can affect IRON cause people think they know what's going on when they have no clue, and you of all people know that anything stated on the net is taken as gospel by everyone else. And just remember, despite no one being supposed allowed to buy currency, I recall tred advertising that both him and you would be buying currency after every raid we did till we changed loot distribution.

The policy I remember is that all members were required to give their currency to Jawas or, god, who's that warrior that begins with a K, and I would not give my currency because I felt that the currency that was auto-lotted to me was my reward for participating in the event. After Tredvolt found out that I was keeping the currency, I explained to him my reasoning, and it was agreed that the currency was the only thing that I would be receiving from my time in IRON. I think the time you are referring to was during the exploratory phases of Dynamis. I sort of remember what you are talking about in purchasing currency, but as you said, I believe this was before the give everything to one person phase. The comments at the time were not from Tredvolt, they were from IRON members who were berating me for not turning my currency to an officer. And lest we forget that the IRON leadership at the time were mainly composed with Tred's real life friends ( ... )

To be totally honest, i think it's time to give up the ideal that you're going to get alot of currency for cheap, people are just too greedy these days. Like i told you before, i'm happy to give you any currency i get, free of charge...but i play rarely right now, and when i do play dynamis usually isnt on. I will pick up any cheap currency i see when i'm on for you though.

I appreciate it pretty kitty. I'll pay my said prices for it (20-25k) unless you absolutely refuse to take the gil.

To be Frank Lui, you wont find any currency for 20-25k anymore. You probally lost some of your contacts due to The Inflation in the last month. All you can really do is do your best whithin your budget to get as much currency as you can in said budget. Mabey put forth more of an effort into buying the Currency at the new fair market value (from which i have seen in 40kish, those who sell for 100k are indeed assholes, the same can be said for those selling ancient beastcoins for 1mil a pop too). There also was no real need to bring any LSs into to this topic IRON can do preety much what they want with there currency, and since your not in IRON i dont think starting a flame war with ppl in an LS you were formally in will help in your campaign to get cheap currency. Again this is from someone looking at the situation from the outside looking in

Mabey someone quitting the game will take pity on you and sell you currency cheap, but can you really count on something like that?

I believe based off my information that currency is still going between 20-30k in some avenues, but I definitely can't count on people selling cheap currency. Most of my currency from stage 4 came from a bazaar in upper jeuno every saturday, and that was when I was farming 2-3 mil a week and prices were stable enough that I kept up with it.

The IRON comment, brush it off folks, it's not meant to start a flame war, you all are taking it way too seriously.

Well, right now were paying 30k a piece. Honestly, who knew the sort of investment dynamis currency could have been. I remember before I was able to do my first dynamis, and seeing 100 pieces sitting for like 500k and wondering what the hell they were.

same... it still is though, the method of acquiring it hasn't changed, still costs 1 mil gil to do a dynamis, all it takes is that effort.
