I would LOVE to see a more detailed write up about some of the different places you visited out there. Particularly the different Museums and parks and whatnot. Holli and I are tentatively planning a trip to NY this fall and any input into things you liked, things you could have lived without, etc... would be greatly appreciated.

DO:
see MoMA (and Museum of Arts & Design if the exhibit is good - they're right across from eachother) - it has an exciting amount of modern art (and a few famous pieces like Starry Night and the famous Jackson Pollack...) and it's free on Friday night. The Guggenheim is nearly up there with MoMA. The Met is also really nice but is more classical art/furniture/swords/etc and it's huge so hard to see everything. The Cloisters is a beautiful building and setting, with pretty much just religious art.

try to hit the Young Designers Market - it's like I <3 Rummage

think about staying at Carlton Arms - we stayed here on our honeymoon, and while it's a bit shabby, it's an easy location and they give you your choice of a few different rooms when you get there ( ... )

Thanks so much for your input. It's muchly appreciated and I'll definitely try to pick up a book.

I just pulled up the Carlton Arms website and from what I can tell it's kind of like the hotel Holli and I stayed in on our honeymoon with rooms done by different artists. We stayed in the David Choe room and while it wasn't my first choice it was cool.

Oh, and there's a Giant Robot in NY, which I haven't been to, but would be right up your alley.

I know, right? It's a little pricey, but there's something magical about being able to buy a pb/honey/banana sandwich for lunch.
