There is a strange phenomenon on campus and it is this:

The girls who have designer bags, designer sunglasses but wear sofie shorts, big t-shirts, flip-flops and their hair in ponytails.

I think it makes them feel fashionable. Like, although they look sort of sloppy and lazy, they have nice things that make them feel like they look better.

How you dress says a lot about you and how you see yourself (I don't mean that in a shallow way, but it does say a lot)
