my friend is in art school now at u of michigan and she's like dying over the workload and difficulty of some of her classes, so i definitely can hear where you're coming from. i mean, i feel like a lot of people really do not appreciate just how hard the fine arts can be. if art school can teach you anything, though, it can hopefully eventually give you some skills you wouldn't absorb through independent study, even if it means having to deal with condescending fibers bitches.
The fine arts are also so costly. I know books are expensive but so are art supplies, and you have to buy them year round not just once a semester. It's not only the workload and the difficulty to, at the end of the day I also want to be doing good work and I want to enjoy what I'm doing. Without feeling completely drained (because I'm overworked or don't like what I'm making). I'm sure art school in many cases ruins some people's love for what they do. I'm not headed in the direction, I just think wow, I have a lot to learn. Not that I didn't know that before I came here but some people at this school just make everyone (self included) look like total inadequate fools. Though you can really learn so much and be motivated by your peers.
& thank you. I think I will be fine too, I just need to know that not everything I do is going to be the best thing I have ever made but everything does require really hard work.
water color is totally awesome but other stuff is good to know about too art prof.s are a special breed of ass hole but try to butter them up, bring gifts to their office hours in exchange for knot-tying tutor sessions?
