Whistler was awesome.

NL East
*Mets
*Phillies
Braves
Marlins
Nationals

No one in this division can compete with the Mets offense. The Phillies come close, and will give the Mets a run for their money but after Brett Myers and Cole Hamels, they have no one in their rotation who impresses me. Pedro will be a savior to the Mets when he returns in June. In the end, the Phillies will sneak into the playoffs after the Cardinals lose their division and the wild card in September. I really like the Marlins in a year or two. I really hope Snelling starts for the Nationals..he deserves it after being snubbed in Seattle.

NL Central
*Cubs
Cardinals
Brewers
Astros
Reds
Pirates

The Cubs will finally get their chance, going from 100 losses to the playoffs in one years time. The Cardinals still have strong offense but their rotation is iffy after Carpenter. Two rookies, an injury prone AAA talent, and a failed closer doesnt impress. Plus they have Ryan Franklin as insurance in case one of these four dont work out..yikes. The Brewers need one or two pieces before they put it all together. They'll make a run in August but will falter in September. Astros need Clemens to come back, or else they have Oswalt and a bunch of no names as a rotation. The Reds and Pirates will battle for the title of who cares how they do.

NL West
*Dodgers
Padres
Diamondbacks
Rockies
Giants

Dodgers made a lot of smart moves this offseason and filled many of their holes from last year. Juan Pierre at the top the their order will create a ton of run scoring opportunities. The Padres have a great rotation, the addition of Greg Maddux is great. Now they need to figure out how to score runs in the biggest pitchers park in baseball. The Diamondbacks youth movement will get them out of the cellar, but not into the playoffs. Give their young guys one or two years to develop fully and they'll be the team to beat. Same situation in Colorado except their rotation isnt as solid. As soon as the Rockies get some decent ground ball pitchers, they'll challenge for division crown.

AL East
*Yankees
*Red Sox
Blue Jays
Devil Rays
Orioles

In the battle of Japanese Imports, Kei Igawa's team will triumph but Dice-K's team will go deeper into the playoffs. The Yankees will have basically the same offense as last year. The Red Sox have upgraded with JD Drew and Julio Lugo and with a healthy year from Coco Crisp, will be back in the playoffs. The Blue Jays have the unfortunate luck of being in the division with the two highest payroll teams in the league. That being said, they would win most other divisions if it werent for the Red Sox and the Yankees. The Devil Rays will finally make their way out of the cellar and into fourth. Delmon Young will win the Rookie of the Year award and Elijah Dukes will complete the best young outfield in baseball, Young, Dukes, and Crawford. The Orioles are spending their money poorly and will pay for it. Tejada will be traded by the trade deadline.

AL Central
*Indians
Tigers
White Sox
Twins
Royals

The Indians will finally put it together after coming so close in '05 and underperforming in '06. CC Sabathia will come in second in the Cy Young vote, after Santana. Hafner will hit 53 HRs and drive in 130, have a ridiculous 1.200 OPS. The Tigers will miss Kenny Rogers for the first half of the season and will never recover. The Twins rotation has fallen far from last years dominant 5. When you have Sidney Ponson and Ramon Ortiz as your 2 and 3 starters, there is a definite problem. No amount of top prospects in Kansas will save your team from spending 50 million on a crappy pitcher.

AL West
*Oakland
Angels
Mariners
Rangers

Oakland has found a replacement for the Big Hurt in Mike Piazza. Piazza will revive his career just like Big Frank Thomas did as the DH in a strong Oakland lineup. A healthy year from Rich Harden and the rest of Oakland's pitching will pounce on a weak division and win in a land slide. The Angels' youth isnt enough to overcome Oakland pitching and will look over matched all season. The Mariners took more steps backward this offseason than they did forwards but somehow figure out a way to finish just above .500.

Playoffs
Divisional
Cubs 3 - Phillies 0
Dodgers 3 - Mets 2
Oakland 3 - Red Sox 1
Yankees 3 - Indians 2

Championship
Dodgers 4 - Cubs 2
Oakland 4 - Yankees 2

World Series
Oakland 4 - Dodgers 2

Oakland dominates in the playoffs to win their first World Series since the Bay Series and the earthquake of 1989. Mike Piazza will be the hero against his old team, the Dodgers, and Rich Harden and Dan Haren will be an unstoppable duo atop Oakland's rotation.
