Harry Potter question

If they've got all sorts of potions that can sure all sorts of stuff, why does Harry still need glasses? How is it that they can't fix his eyes?

I am not the Harry Potter expert that some of my friends are. Nor have I been on Pottermore (which may have this answer, no idea). I however have a couple theories. The first would be: He didn't want to fix his eyes. (Though I know I would in a second if I could. Glasses suck!)

Second theory: Perhaps it's like his scar. Which, when it was a fresh wound, could have been fixed. But Dumbledore left it because he believed scars told stories and gave one character. So perhaps, like the scar, after a certain point you cannot fix bad eyesight?

That sounds kind of silly now that I've typed it out. It sounded less silly in my head. XD

In the books, for the Yule Ball, she put tons of some potion in it to make it straight.

Why are there fat people in the HP verse? Why is the baldness? Why can't Squibs get a potion that gives them magic abilities? If you look at a lot of the spells/potions in the HP verse, they're impermanent, so the implication is that there is a physical reality that magic warps, but the magic will wear off ( ... )
