I shouldn't be surprised. I know many people up here at home are materialistic and shallow. Of course, none of them would be aware of it or admit it. I wrote a rant last year about how the new buy in for poker with my friends is $10. I played last week, lost my $10, no problem. unlike minnesota, it'd only be like $5 which is hardly anything for a good 3-4 hrs of poker.
