Oh wow, this is such a brilliant and fascinating portrayal of Brian and his relationship with the Beatles. The last line is so perfectly bittersweet. Just...Oh, Brian.

Writing about Brian and the Beatles and going for bittersweet instead for an unrelenting angst fest was pretty much the basic idea.:) Thank you so much for reading!

You wrote a Brian fic. SOMEBODY ACTUALLY WROTE A BRIAN FIC!! Oh god, I think I love you. Brian is just so amazing, and it kills me that only a few people realize that! I've only read about five Brian fics D:

Anyway, everything about this was just...wow. Brilliant. I'm sorry if I'm creeping you out, but I just can't put into words how much I love this ♥

Brian is in two of my other stories, but as part of the ensemble. This time, I wanted to make him the central focus, because yes, he's fascinating!

Brian is lovely! Great how you wrote of Ringo's arrival meaning Brian is no longer the new guy, yet at the same time wonders if he himself is as easily disposed of as Pete ( ... )

I always thought George's reaction to Clive's behaviour showed George at his best. As to what went on in Brian's subconscious, we'll never know; otoh given how guilty he felt about being gay, it's extremely unlikely he'd have brought George to his parents' house if he wanted to have sex with him on that occasion.

John's statement is from Brian's account of this conversation as quoted by Alistair Taylor: I had the family business to fall back on. He said he didn't even have a family, which I thought was a bit hard on Cynthia and his son.

Paul's accounts of the Dylan/pot encounter - both the one given in MYFN and his telling of the story in the Brian tv documentary - always to me veer between funny (the "seven levels" thing) and sad (that Brian felt so liberated by the whole experience because that says such a lot to how Brian felt about himself otherwise). So it made for the perfect finale.

Selena, have you read Ken Mansfield's The White Book? He writes of the Beatles during the late 60s and throughout the 70s, he has very positive anecdotes to tell, and seems to have genuinely liked all 4 Beatles. I bet you could blend some of his accounts into your vignettes, I'd love to read your take on them!
